It’s the End of the World and I’m in my Bathing Suit

It’s the End of the World and I’m in my Bathing Suit is a comedic contemporary middle grade novel by Justin A. Reynolds. Eddie is gearing up for the best day of his life, AKA the annual Beach Bash! He’s prepared for this day all summer, but he’s also been avoiding doing his laundry; when his Mom finds out about the stash of dirty clothes in his closet he’s forced to finish his laundry before he can join his family at the Beach Bash. A mysterious power outage stops him mid-cycle, and he goes out into the neighborhood to meet up with some friends. It seems like the neighborhood is empty, and the kids start to suspect that their families might not be coming back. There is no sexual content or violence in this book. There are two instances of characters using the Lord’s name in vain; aside from this there is no language in this book. Although the kids start to guess that their families are gone, nothing frightening is shown. For these reasons I would recommend this book for any readers over the age of 7.
